Sponsor a Delegate
This is your chance to make a difference in the
lives of those around you, not only for today, but for years to
come. The high school students of today will be, within five to
ten years, the leaders in your community. They are bright; they
are enthusiastic; they are determined to make a difference in
the world. If you are committed to projects for today’s
youth, I know that you are willing to invest in their future.
The Youth Leadership & Diversity Conference
is such a project because it is so much more than just a leadership
camp. Studies show that in order for a person to be an effective
leader, he or she must have a thorough knowledge of one’s
own self. That knowledge of self is just one of the many aspects
of what this conference is all about. Activities are designed
to break down barriers like prejudice, bigotry, and apathy while
teaching leadership and diversity through understanding and compassion.
Communication and listening skills are stressed. Discussion groups
are used to facilitate the sharing of ideas. Through the structured
sessions provided, delegates are brought to a greater understanding
of the value that each person possesses. This conference intentionally
forces them to think, to bond, and to react based upon the greater
good for all involved.
If you have been a sponsor in the past, then you
know the influence this conference has on its delegates. There
is magic here. We know because delegates have told us. So have
their parents. It is amazing how much more confident and self-assured
a person can become in only one week with the proper guidance
and support system in place. We make an astounding difference
in the lives of our delegates.
This year’s conference is again being held
at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. It is a beautiful
campus and their staff couldn’t be more delighted to have
us. We have earned the reputation of “The Best Summer Conference
on Campus”.
The cost per delegate is just $300. The only criterion
is that delegates must be entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade
in the fall. If you check around, you’ll find that we are
the least expensive five-day conference, by far. And, we offer
a superior program.
Applications are due by June 1st to:
Conference Director PO Box 800 Wayne, MI 48184
Keep an additional copy of each application for
your organization or club records. It is important that you keep
in contact with the delegates you are sending. A personal letter
will also be mailed to each individual delegate explaining everything
that needs to be known about the conference.
